Nice, France

yah i'm on a good computer so i can write more than a paragraph without it shutting down!

so today was good! lots of walking and interesting oops moments but it was a good day none the less! we started off on a bus to Eze Village which we were told was an interesting medival town to walk around, well we got off the bus and took a look around and decided we didn't want to stay, so i knocked on the busses door as it was pulling away and it let us back on and we were off to Monoco! home of Monte Carlo and a HUGE palace as a casino! it was an interesting town but it was extrememly rich tourist central! there were Chanel stores on the streets and the mall we accidently walked into had marble floors and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling! we walked rigaht bach out! lol! but then we asked the tourist info place were to find food cuz we were starved and they suggested going to that mall! the only thing we could afford was a bag of MM's! so we sat down on these chairs, and i made the comment 'i'll bet we have to pay to sit down here' and wouldn't you know 5 minuets later and gaurd came up to us shaking his hand (like he was motioning the word 'iffy') and shaking his head speaking in french! we asked if we had to leave and he just kept shaking his hand and then finally shrugged his shoulders and nodded his head! so funny! we laughed as we walked aways, quietly of course!

we then ventured off to find the train station to get to Cap D'ail, it took us awhile and we saw a grocery store along the way and bought a loaf of bread and bree cheese, and a pack of four 'hagandaz knockoff' revels! all together this took up our money for the day! a total of 6 euro's! lol! we ate two revels each on our treck up to the station! very filling! the station was underground but there were no signs so we were a little confused, it was an empty room with an escalator then an elavator, a man in the elavator helped us figure out which train to get on then he even walked with us there on his way to his platform! we deffinalty made the train in like 3 minuets! we got off at Cap D'ail and followed a group of ppl that looked as though they were heading to the beach, this treck led us down and up ALOT of stair cases built into the sides of cliff, and along the coast! very senic! we got to the beach 15 mins later and stayed there for the next four hours! it was a lovely time! a small beach in the alcove of cliffs with clear blue water! and yes mom i wore alot of sunscreen and have not had a sunburn yet! we left around 7 to go back to find the station, which took an hour as of there were alot of winding roads and dead ends and no ppl to ask directions to! we finally came across a lady who speaked english and asked her, she gave us directions and she was right! we enede up at the station arouand 8! when we arrived back in Nice our new mission became finding the right bus stop to catch our 23 bus! we thought we were at the right one but then realized we needed to be across the street, so when we finnaly got on the bus and off at its last stop Saint Maurice Square we realized it was around 930 and busses stop running at 9! joy! so we called the Villa were staying at from a pay phone in the square and 20 mins later they arrived to pick us up!

a very eventful day i must say, Nice itself is under ALOT of construction, and you'de think coming from winnipeg i'de feel at home, but its a million times worse! and there are cross walks but the 'go' sign will be on when one lane of trafic still has a green light. so you really have to beware of vespa's and cars driving, we've had to bolt it a few times! lol! were spending a day doing absolutly NOTHING tomorrow, sleeping and relaxing and sending off postcards is on the adgenda! i'm quit excited, we also have to switch room tomorrow, so thats should be interesting, so far we're in a 5 bed mixed dorm, but its been all girls for the most part. so we'll see where we are tomorrw!
night night!
Amy
